If I can't be beautiful, I want to be invisible.
My name is Allie and I have been alive for 22 years.
I am hypocritical and contradict myself a lot.
I dream of the future while wishing for the past.
I mostly reside in Massachusetts or Vermont, but also sometimes Maine.
So, yesterday was Memorial Day. I totally thought I had work from 2:30-close because I went in two days ago and they told me that I was working then, and then I called and double-checked and confirmed it, but yesterday morning they called and gave me my schedule and apparently I’m not working til Friday. Oh. Okay. Whatever. At least I got Memorial Day off. I’m working the entire next weekend.
Anyways, I spent the day by visiting Old Orchard Beach for a bit and then at night we had a mini cookout thing by my fire pit. It was pretty nice.
Today I have a second interview for a potential second job, so I’m kinda nervous. Today is the start of the Kennebunkport Festival, but apparently it’s only affordable or appealing if you are super rich and middle-aged. Fuck that. I need to find more events for my age people around here. I’ll try Portland.
Yesterday I brought my mom out to breakfast at a buffet because of Memorial Day. Although I had been woken up at 6:40 and couldn’t fall back asleep so I was incredibly groggy, the food was delicious. I hadn’t had breakfast food in a while so it really felt like a feast for a queen. I should do breakfast more often.
Afterwards, I ventured down to Raymond, New Hampshire to kayak with Shari because her family is camping there for Memorial Day weekend. It was a really beautiful day, and we were able to find a secluded spot to smoke a joint on the water, which is something we’ve both wanted to do for a while. I did get kinda burnt, but it was worth it cause now I’ll have a little tan to my super pale skin. Gah, I love the camping atmosphere though. I really wanna go camping more often. When I have a family someday, I totally plan on bringing them camping all the time. It’s such a healthy leisure activity, I really see hardly any cons to it. Besides the bugs. Those can be awful sometimes.
Meanwhile, while I had been off doing camping activities and such, Kyle was working on constructing a garden for the trailer! We have a raspberry bush, tomato plants, a rosemary plant and a cucumber plant. It’ll prolly expand when we get more money though. Anyways, we plan on both taking care of it so I’ll give you updates as it gets better.
When I got back, we all went to the beach together and there was a beautiful sunset! We even brought Sam and she seemed to be enjoying herself even though she wouldn’t go in the ocean. It was a nice way to end the evening.
My mumsie has been up in Kennebunk for Memorial Day weekend which has been lovely, but also has meant that I have been feasting on a lot of delicious food. My mom doesn’t like to cook when she’s in Maine, because she views it as vacation time, so we go out to eat a lot, especially since this is a holiday weekend.
Permanent food baby.
I love her to death though. And she brought Sammie, my beagle! Sam is afraid of everything, but she is the sweeeeetest doggy ever. I’ll show her cuteness further through pictures eventually.
